Stains on binding?

Thread Starter
ds is almost 2 months and practically every cover we own has stained binding around the legs. Darn ebf poo!

Is there any way for this to come out? I wash the covers immediately (by hand) if they get poopy then hang dry them - but it doesn't seem to help. They are thirsties, by the way.

I mean, they still function perfectly, it's just ugly. Do i just deal?

TIA!

When you say "hang to dry," are you hanging them outside? Usually the sun takes away all EBF poo stains for me.

i put a tad bit of dawn on a washcloth and scrub the binding gently. it doesnt come all the way out, but it helps. the sun is also amazing as the pp said.

They do fade with washing normally over time but the sun will take away stains quite well. After washing normally, just hang dry in the sun. On an overcast day, they will still fade a little but direct sunlight will fade them in one drying. The really set-in stains or stains from older toddlers take a few drying times in the sun.

When i havd wash mine i pull the edges apart and run the soap with my hands down the sides with it pulled apart several times...until i dont see the poo anymore! I have this bar of soap that i use for hand washing clothes or diapers or what ever and it works great! Im sure a touch of detergent would do the job just as well.

We're past the poop-on-the-covers stage (for now, at least...), but here's what I used to do:

I would rinse the poopy cover right away, and scrub the white edges with my hands. I keep a little squirt bottle of liquid laundry detergent (mild stuff that's safe for baby) in my bathroom by the sink. I would squirt just a couple of drops onto the poopy spot at the edge and rub it in with my hands. I would then toss the cover into the laundry (I wash covers with his clothes, not with his diapers, since once they're rinsed they're really not poopy). I think having it sit in the hamper with the detergent on it for a while helped to pre-treat the stain. It always came out completely in the wash. I've never hung them in the sun.
