help with abbreviations

wondering if someone can explain to me the abbreviations used when referring to husband and children. i keep seeing DH for husband (whats the D for?) and DD etc for different kids? i have no idea. would help shorten my posts. thanks! oh, also wondering if anyone knows how to change your member name. my friend signed me up and picked my name. =)

The D in DH etc is for "Dear" - Dear Husband
DD = Dear Daughter
DS = Dear Son

I guess inlaws don't rate a "Dear" so just MIL and FIL and SIL and BIL.

If you have multiple children of the same sex you can refer to them as DD1 (oldest daughter) and DD2 etc.
