So my and my dp went to a consignment sale at a church down the street...we found a lot of good finds. But the one I am most impressed with is the 2 packs of cloth diapers. I have never use everything else other that disposals so I am new to all of this ....any advice or help would be appreciated !!!!

My suggestion is to get a few different styles to try after the baby is born, and make your decision then. The things I thought I'd LOVE I ended up hating, and vice versa.

With Robin, we used kissaluv size 0 fitteds with bummis covers. Then we got bG OS pockets and that's all we've used since then. With this baby, we will use disposables until he/she is big enough for the bGs.

We 'sposied our first & clothed our second. We had more success with the cloth so we are sticking with that for our third. We started off with Kissaluvs 0's with covers, then moved to pockets. We are potty learning right now, but the diapers are in great shape still so I won't have to purchase just a few for the new baby.

http://allaboutclothdiapers.com/ has a great blog about the different types of diapers and her personal reviews.

http://www.pinstripesandpolkadots.co...entchoices.htm gives you what detergents are best for the cloth diapers...some detergents are really horrible for dipes.

Have fun & get ready to be addicted to fluff!

Welcome to my addiction! Who knew that someone could become obsessed with cloth diapers (and baby carriers)!

I p/t clothed my 13 yo and f/t cloth my 16 month old.

I agree with whoever said to try a few out before buying a whole lot. I thought I'd love bumgenius as many people do but nope, I do not care for them very much. I love fitteds with a wool cover the best which isn't something I thought I would going in. Many local cd retailers will have trial packs so you can try everything out from prefolds to AIOs, I suggest that if you're able to!

YAY cloth is fun! And addictive!
I second Lauren's suggestion to try lots of kinds.
I have heaps of prefold and pockets. I've found that prefolds are best for my family 'cause I think they are easiest to wash and Trixie had some issues with the really absorbent liners in pockets, they wicked too much from her skin and burned her. I think that she's a bit of a rarity though.

Check out the cloth diaper forum, lots of good information.

I found GreenMountainDiapers.com and Cottonbabies.com both excellent sources of info and suggestions.

Frankly, there is more information out there than I think one human can possibly make sense of. If you know anyone IRL whose brain you can pick, I'd go that route. Cloth is overwhelming (and totally worth it) and really something as personal and irrational as your food tastes. It helps to ask people what they like but in the end (HAH!) it comes down to experience and your budget.

Do you sew?? Then it gets even more interesting.

I really want to cloth diaper as well. Is there such thing as a cloth diaper registry? I have lots of hand me downs from friends, so I don't much in the way of baby gear, but none of them cloth diaper. I would love to be able to register for them if anyone knows how!!!
