leaving a 16 month old

(this is a friend's situation - i wish mine slept through the night & i could go off for night away!)

she has to go away for work for one night at the end of the month, leaving her 16 month old behind. she can't take him with her. he sleeps through the night, is used to his dad giving him a lot of care. he breastfeeds twice a day, once in the morning & once in the evening. my friend is worried about losing her supply while she is away. i reckon she'll be okay (she's always had a good supply) & the most she will miss is 3 feeds. what do you think? does she need to take the pump? we were thinking of hand expressing for comfort if necessary. she'll be really busy & won't really have the time to pump.

I left my DD with my mom and dad to co camping one night. I was engorged in the morning but I could not pump. I barely got anything out. She can bring a pump but it may not work so well. I nurse about twice as much as she does and my supply was totally fine.

Supply should be fine. I would take the pump. If she doesn't need it fine but if she does she will regret not having it.
