I thought someone here might like this idea for a handmade toy. When I was little, my mother used to have tupperware parties and parties for some related toy company. One of my favorite toys came from there. It was a set of plastic stencils. They were about ten inches square and each one had all kinds of things on it that fit a theme. For example, there was a fish stencil with fish and dolphins and whales. There was a farm stencil with farm animals. There was a stencil with people and dogs and cats on it.

I had an idea to make a similar set for my daughter when she is older from posterboard. Just cut the posterboard into several squares that are all the same size. Using a pencil, lightly draw the outlines of different shapes and animals on each piece and carefully cut them out using an Xacto knife. Then carefully erase the pencil marks around the edges. Voila! A set of awesome stencils that will last for a while. You can even dress them up and make them look fun by stamping them with different colored bingo stampers or you could paint them different colors.
