Nursing every couple days..

DS1 (2.5) has recently been nursing only every couple days (though he still asks many times a day, it's normally at a time I need to hold him off and then he falls asleep---I work, so I am not home very much when he is awake). How long do you think we can keep up this pattern and him not fully wean? I still enjoy nursing him (sometimes) and he and his little brother (11wks) seem to enjoy nursing together and looking at each other etc, and I feel he still needs that opportunity to calm himself here or there.

Mine's been doing that since a little bit before his 2nd birthday, and he's almost 3 now. And in the past couple of months, as things in our life got kind of hectic and topsy turvy, he's gone back to daily for the most part.

You could probably keep it up (going every couple of days, or even more often) for as long as you're comfortable with it. I'm learning how to set limits with my toddler, although it hasn't been going that well.

Your 11 wk old will keep up your milk supply, so you can probably keep it up as long as you'd both like to. The picture of your babies looking at each other while nursing is so sweet!
