Talk to me about Castor Oil - Page 2

You can always try something less strong to start with and then move on to it.
Here are some other ideas:
Castor oil belly rub(rub belly with castor oil(or better yet have someone else and then cover with hot wet wash cloths.

A teaspoon of cumin(the spice) in 8 ounces of hot water. Has somewhat of same effect as castor oil but def. more mild.

Eating a bunch of gold beets(juicing them or just eating lots) that will get your intestines going I say gold beets cause the red ones will come out red and may frighten you.

Good luck to you in whatever you choose, just remember its your choice and your baby's too.

My Mom took it to have me - on her duedate.....I would've considered it had I made it to 40 weeks too, but I've never even made it close.

In fact, in retrospect, I should've done it with this one instead of even considering allowing them to break my water....I don't know why I didn't think of that!

My first two babies births were started with castor oil. Both were born floppy and bluish. Accupressure works great to start labor and you can do it yourself. Just search on the internet. I would not suggest castor oil to anyone. For what it is worth. I had one baby at 42 weeks 4 days and she was perfectly healthy. Unless you know the exact date you ovulated how can you know that is really your due date? You know? And even then every baby and every pregnancy is all different.
