i have had painful periods all my life we'll see what labor brings for me.

my friend also told me that when you have your period you actually DILATE to a ..... 3? cant remember the #.

that thread has another interesting thing about the pressure of a contraction vs a period cramp, that the period cramp is sometimes dramatically more pressure.

I have had awful debilitating periods, too. I used to vomit and/or pass out every month from the horrific PAIN. Well, until after my son was born. Now (and I only had 2 before getting pg again) they are a breeze! In labor, I never even experienced any pain until the doc broke my water at about 3 cm. Even then it wasn't bad, and I was flat on my back, grrr. Then I had a section soon after, so we shall see what this labor brings.
