Tell me about your "late" walkers*Update in post #23 - Page 2

I read that most children start walking between 12 - 14 months of age. So I wouldn't consider walking at 14 months late.... personally.

DD crawled at 8.5 months but didn't walk until just after 20 months, which was after 2 months of physical therapy through EI. It took her about 2-3 months to really be a good walker, and she didn't really run well until closer to 3. She has low muscle tone and (though we didn't discover this until lately, it may have been a factor in her balance) needed glasses. AFAIK kids aren't considered "late" unless they're not walking by 18 mo.

Just wanted to report back. DD2 was evaluated and has some gross motor delays and sensory issues too (seems both go hand in hand...SPD and gross motor delays). Thus the reason for her bunny hop among other little things as well. Of course, not the case w/ every delayed walking baby, but thought I'd post back.
