I posted some pics of my prototype diaper that I got mostly finished. I have to get my snaps online, so I am just waiting to put those on. This is my One Size Flannel Diapers with Gussets. The waist will have snaps to adjust, and the legs have adjustable elastic with hook and eyes, but it is hidden and padded.

I also did embroidery with cute sayings (this one has "NO Monkey Business" on the front), and complementary quilting down the diaper. This one has bananas. I had cut 54 diapers, when I meant to make 40, since I will have 2 babies in diapers after Xmas. So, I will have some extras.

They should all be pretty cute though. LOL I have 4 of each print only, since I like all the different fabrics. My bear one says, "Need my R&R or I'm a Bear". LOL My butterfly one says, "I give Butterfly Kisses". The tennis ones say, "I Make a Lotta Racket". There is a baby print that has buttons, and it says, "Cute as a Button" of course. I have others too. I have fabric for my covers, but have only cut them out so far. The other diapers are on my step 5 so far.

Now, I do have these marked with a label of sorts on the back waistline. But, I wasn't really planning on doing anything but making them for my kiddos at first. I am going to end up with extras, so my friend may get those. And, if she has her baby sporting them around, there is a label and she can always tell others where she got them. My DH wants me to "pay for the forever machine" that he got me. If it falls in my lap, then I will, but otherwise, I have so much to do with the kids and my PG.

Anyway, just saying that I am not trying to spam here at all. I never planned to become a WAHM, but if there are a person here or there that ask me to make them, I won't be able to refuse. They are too much fun to make, and just too cute. Well, because I am a quiltaholic, I think so.

So, I just wanted to show and tell. I am giving my pattern away in the newsletter I doing. But, it is kind of an advanced pattern, so I don't know how many others would want to attempt them. And, I am pretty bad at giving tutorials and instructions. Kymberli

The diaper is so cute! I'm preggo with my first and am anxious to cloth diaper. My mom is a fanatical quilter and has offered to make diapers for me - but I don't know where to get patterns/material etc. I would love to have a copy of your pattern if you are sharing! I won't be able to make heads or tails of it - but I'm sure my mom will! Thanks !!! And happy diapering!

Thank you so much. I would be willing to share my pattern. I had another GM ask me after I posted this. Since, I have been cooped up in the hospital with children. I am finishing the instructions as I go along, and I have to make the paper pattern (mine is cardboard). I am not really good at explaining to a newbie, but someone who has a lot of sewing knowledge may be able to understand my instructions. LOL I really do try though. Over time, I may do a tutorial with pics, etc, but for now, I am putting the instructions and sketch in my Dec newletter. So, it will be done by then.

So, if anyone wants the pattern, PM me in 2 wks, and I can have the instructions done. I can do the sketch by then, but if anyone needs an actual paper pattern, then it will be a while. I am trying to get my diapers and tend to the children's med issues right now. If I can do it by email, then I can share in my "spare time". LOL Kymberli

I'd be interested in an electronic version of the pattern. I've just got the first lot of my material posted over from the UK so I'm hopefully going to make a start. I have one load of flannel, I think there's 12m there, and then another 2 bundles in the UK. Plus I have some fleece (luckily in blue), some upholstery material which appears to be quite water resistant, a strange red fake/cheap velvet which wicks really well. Water goes right through straigh away and spreads out in the fabric and the top of the fibres feel dryish quickly.

Currently just trying to figure out what to do and how many layers to use.

My time scale is a little different as my mum got me some NB and first size prefolds with covers so I've got a bit till I 'need' these, but I think I'd like to get started now while I've more time.

Well, feel free to PM me in a couple weeks. I am still working on my huge pile of dipes, and am on step 10-12. I am waiting on snaps, a press, and elastic for the rest of the diapers as I severely underestimated, to come in the mail.

After I get these done, I plan to make one from start to finish and make a picture tutorial. Just that I am doing these all "factory style" to get them all done. Right now, I am working on my free form quilting on them, so that step will take a LONG time. LOL Kymberli

I posted more pics of the diaper now that I got my snaps in today. I also did the hook and eye at the leg elastic, whereas before, I had it pinned. The pics didn't turn out that well. I guess it was too bright, but didn't notice how bad it was until I had the pics on my computer. The snaps are green and have monkeys on them too. They are cuter in person

Oh, and the bananas are the quilting. Every diaper will have its own quilting that goes with the theme.

So, I have one diaper COMPLETELY done.

I am working one step at a time with the 53 remainders. And, so I am on the quilting step for all of them. And, I have to wait until I get more elastic in, as I severely underestimated. After getting my snaps, I discovered that I underestimated on them too. Then, when trying to order, the PP through Kam was giving me big issues. Grrr. Kymberli
