Favorite TV or MOVIE MOM???

I just watched the movie Stepmom, one of my alltime favorites! It got me thinking about the portrayal of Moms in media. Who is your favorite Movie or TV MOM?

Michelle Duggar (not fictional, but still on TV). She is so patient. I wish I had a tenth of her patience.

Abby Bradford (Betty Buckley) from Eight is Enough.

Even as a young kid watching this, I loved her for stepping into a family of 8 and loving each and every one of them. You knew she really tried and although she had never been a mother before, she did some really fantastic mothering. I loved how they had her finding her way through relationships with each of the children - each struggling to define their relationship with her and her willingness to meet them each on their own terms.

I know it was fictional but, even as a young girl, I was struck by that family dynamic and thought she was such a great mom. In fact I loved her so much I named my first daughter Abigail after her

Piper Halliwell from Charmed. She's nurturing yet she kicks demon butt.

I love the mom from "A Christmas Story". Except for the tongue-washing of course! But she's so loving and patient.

Frances McDormand's character in Almost Famous. Hands down. She was intense, but at the same time, it was hard to argue with anything that she said.
