Guiding Light

I have been following Guiding Light for 32 years...and my grandmother started with it on the radio...I can't believe they are taking it off the air and this is the last week. I have not been able to watch it for much of the time but followed the story every day on the computer. When my daughters were little if we were home, 3:00 (that's when it was on then) was "quiet time"...they played quietly in their room or had a snack and watched PBS in my room and I watched GL.

Anyone else out there mourning the loss of this show?

I haven't watched it for many years. But we watched it for many years growing up and into my 20's. My mother watched it back in the days of Papa Bauer and Burt. I am sad to see it go.

Ive been watching this show for 15 years!!!! I started watching it when I was in 7th grade. Marina Cooper was a baby and had been kidnapped.

I got out of school at 2:30, the show started at 3, and school was only 2 blocks from my house. So I walked home and my mom and brother didnt get home until 4. Thats how I got addicted. Im so sad its ending...

I too cant believe its done. This was my moms show and I remember coming home from kindy eating my lunch and watching it with her. I'm 36 now. Tv was my best friend growing up so when a show stops, I really feel like I've lost a friend.
And to top it all off, I set my vcr (yes, I'm still old school, lol) to tape it, but I did something wrong and it only taped the first 15 min of the very last episode. So, I didnt even get to watch the last show!

I haven't watched Gulding Light for a long time, but I became a fan when I was in high school and watched faithfully through the Dolly (cloned Reva) storyline. Even though it's been a while since I watched, I'm sad it's off the air.

I started watching it in middle school to escape some issues at home!

I continued watching through college, but stopped, obviously, when I got a job.

My fave years were the Roxie, Reva, Rusty, Kyle Sampson, Fletcher, Maeve years. Phillip and India, Phillip and Beth? I remember when Harly was introduced on the show! Remember those times?

I really wanted to watch the last month or so. I'm a teacher and was on summer break and watched a couple of times, but it was too painful. And I hate how they film it now.

It was a good release that helped me through tough times!!
