My 40 week appt Black/Blue Cohosh Q

Had my 40 week appointment with my MW today.

Everything is perfect. Urine was good, blood pressure was spot on, no weight gain... no swelling.

Just waiting . . . and waiting and waiting for Jude to be born now.

She said I can try castor oil or black and blue cohosh after Tuesday if I want... But she is comfortable with me going to 43 weeks. Which would be October 6th : Do I really want to be pregnant for up to 22 more days?? My MW would then want to strip my membranes, and if that didn't work, the next day she would want to break my water. . . then 24 hours after that I would be walking into the hospital (LETS AVOID THAT!)

Anyone else trying Black and/or Blue Cohosh? Would you try it now, or wait a bit longer? I'm thinking about trying it next weekend.

I would probably wait until 41 weeks to do anything.

I agree. I'm 40 weeks tomorrow (or last Friday depending on what method you use) and I'm trying to be patient and wait. My midwife said that they wait until 41w3d to start doing natural induction stuff and that most of her clients give birth by 42w3d. I really don't want to hit October either, but I'm trying, really trying to be patient right now. It is so hard!

I would wait it out. I have been mildly disappointed in births where I helped get things started. All of my previous births were early or right on due date. However, my 6th daughter was born 42 weeks 4 days. I never expected I would ever go that far based on my other pregnancy and birth experiences. It turns out though that I think she wanted to choose her birthday and time. She was born 11/11/2007 at exactly 11:11 pm. If you have a feeling to get things started though I would like to suggest accupressure which you can do yourself. I did do that one pregnancy and it was my most gentle and easy birth yet.
