Just wanted to share my great experience at our local airport. I live in a very traditional town in the South where most women formula feed and those who breastfeed almost never do so in public. I was at the airport dropping my sister off to leave for college
when my 9 week old started looking pretty hungry. I was nervous about nursing since this was the first time I had done so in public in an area with lots of people sitting nearby. As I started to nurse I got a little self conscious as there was a woman nearby watching me. I did my best to ignore but it was really making me uncomfortable so I was relieved when Viv decided she wasn't that hungry, just interested in a little snack. As I was getting up to leave the woman ran up to me and told me, "I'm sorry for staring I just miss nursing my babies so much. Enjoy your time nursing because it is over so fast." She then told me she nursed both of her LOs for over three years each. It made me feel so great!
