Another sad story

My sister just had a baby boy, her second, her first is circ'd, so I knew she and her dh were going to want to circ again. I tried to talk them out of it, but there was nothing I could say that would change their mind. I feel so bad for my nephew, but I did all that I could. I just had to come on here and vent to people who would understand. I just feel very sad right now. I'm trying not to think about it too much since there's nothing else I can do. I'm trying to concentrate on being happy that there is a new cute, healthy baby in the family.

It is hard to know what really happens to the poor boys in the family and you try to prevent it from happening but sadly for some people they don't want to listen or don't believe it as bad as you say because they think if doctors do it and it's legal it must not be as bad as we say . My mom actually told me during a circ vent saying doctors are doing that so it must not be that bad otherwise why would they do it if it was bad ?

I am so sorry this has has been done to your two nephews.

You can inform them of their legal right to sue when they turn 18 and you can help them with that process when the time comes. You couldn't get their parents to listen to facts and respect their bodies as babies but the boys will have a time when they do have dominioin over themselves. You can be ready with information for them when that time comes.

Just know that you are not alone. My sister-in-law also decided to circ her son. (He was born about 3 weeks ago.) Not only did I talk to her, but so did my DH (her brother). Nothing got through. It's so frustrating when it happens to one of your own family members.

Thanks for all of the loving responses. I definitely plan to tell both of my nephews about restoration when they get old enough, or maybe dh will tell them if it's more comfortable coming from a guy.
