AFTER baby Mamas - let's talk about the weight/belly.

So, how's it coming? I'm going to be honest here, might as well be with you guys, hey?

I ended my pregnancy right around 210 - which is where I started my pregnancy this time (and last time)

Last time I weighed myself I was at 189.5... WOOT WOOT. As expected, I'm down about 20 ish lbs (maybe more now?) from when I had her.

Also - went shopping with my girlfriends today, and I can wear a L shirt (instead of XLs) and I was between a 14/16 jeans, instead of between a 16/18.

THAT is exciting.

Now, she'll be 4 weeks on Tuesday, and I think I'm going to sign up for Curves this week. I really need to take this momentum and go with it. Especially since we're done having kids - I really have NO excuse not to get my pre-babies body back!

I'm having a hard time (especially with dh being gone all the time with football and me having a sporatic newborn) cooking, so we've been eating out more than I'd like to admit......That's going to have a negative effect for SURE if I don't put a lid on it soon.....that and giving up my regular soda has been difficult, but I simply can't spare the calories and I NEED the caffeine right now (and hate coffee!). But I know that asparatame is bad for weight loss, so that's not without mixed feelings either.

How are you ladies doing/feeling????

My LO is only 5 days old, and I am so happy that the weight is melting off already. My cankles are gone, which is just wonderful!:

I am fairly certain I will lose the first 20 pounds with no effort over the next month or so, then I will have to WORK to get that last 20 off. I am planning to join the gym after my 6 week check-up, I really need that long to get to the point of really working out (vs. just walking which I can do for free- lol) since I had a c-section.

The first couple of days, my boys wanted to know why it still looked like I had a baby in my tummy, but it is getting a lot better each day as the swelling goes down, and I am hopeful that with belly bands and wearing the baby in a pouch, that his Baptism pics this weekend won't have me looking pregnant

I'm 10 or so days post partum. I haven't weighed myself yet. But I'm still wearing maternity pants/shorts and/or stretchy regular pants (like yoga pants). I have a ways to go to get back to pre-pregnancy size, but I gained over 40 pounds this time.

I can't WAIT to start exercising/walking with the baby, but I'm waiting until at least two weeks to do that. I have a tendency to overdo things if I'm not careful. I get all excited, and then end up sick or hurt or something. So I'm determined to take it slow initially.

I started out not much lighter than you did. About 190. Gained 30 pounds so far. I ran a few miles about three days a week before I got pregnant. The year before, I trained for and ran a marathon and weighed about 185 pounds at the time.

My body simple LIKES that weight. It's weird. I can diet and exercise and still I stay around that weight. I have come to accept that for me, it's a health weight. I would like to fit into a size 10, but I can be happy with my size 12-14 self.

That said, it took me three weeks to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight with DD. Now, almost 6 years later, I am guessing it might take me twice as long since I gained ten more pounds and I am older.

So since my body seems to have a comfortable weight it likes to be at, I am not worried about getting back there quickly. I AM DYING to go for a run, though! I am praying for an "easy" and uncomplicated birth so I can go for a run ASAP after delivering!

This is me too. I didn't realize how swollen I was until I started to deflate!!

I'm not sure how much I gained. I stopped counting at 38wks/35lbs. I think thats close tho. I've lost about 15lbs so far. I started out about 10-15 over, so I'm hoping to lose 25 more. I have a head start -- I worked really hard to stay fit this time!!! With DD3, I gained 50 and it took an intense 12-wk course to get most of it off. Never lost the last ten, ah well.

I';ve got mad sciatica from the delivery flaring up an old spine injury, so I need to get active quickly and try to prevent long-term issues. I'm planning to start with walking and light strength training in a couple of weeks!

Well, the belly is my issue this time around. With my other 3, I could fit into pre-pg pants by 1wk post partum. This time, my belly is still poofy. I keep telling myself that it's going to take more time this go-round- I'm almost 36 vs the 27 that I was when I started having babies. I did only gain 27lbs (started at 103, delivered at 130) which I'm glad about. Down to 117.5 now, so 14.5lbs left. I do feel like I'll be able to walk on the treadmill, walk w/the stroller, etc. soon, well, as soon as she sleeps a little more and I don't feel like I have a constant hangover from the fatigue. I broke down and bought 2 new pairs of pants today- stretchy yoga style- since I only had 1 pair that worked. I hate buying in-between clothes! But I can't wash the same pair of pants every night, so there ya go

I am hoping we can encourage each other in the coming weeks/months as we regain our strength and our pre-pg bodies, no matter what size/weight we started at and where we ended up. My hope for everyone is that we all emerge from this birth with a healthier, physically stronger body than we went in with

wy is 10 days old and I'm 4lbs over my prepg weight. I started at 145 and gained about 18 lbs.

my feet and ankles are finally starting to deflate - part of it was from the pregnancy and the other part of the gallons and gallons of fluids they pushed into me at the hospital. I'm recovering from a c/s so I haven't tried on my prepg pants, but I'm dying to have pants that actually have a zipper. We went on a short walk outside today. I'm scared of doing too much too soon.
