so, just thought i would post a quick note...
woke up at 2am for the usual nightly pee and had a lot of bloody show, bright red tinged mucus stuffs. back to bed and then up at 3am with my first contraction. they have been coming 15 -10 minutes apart since then. lasting 30 seconds.
i woke dh at 630am so he could call into work . hoping it doesn't fizzle but i don't think it will since i am almost full term and have never had anything fake.

probably won't really update any longer myself but will keep strongfeather in the loop.

just wanted to update. contractions have been 10-15 minutes apart since 3am still. they have fizzled a little and come back. 1 minute usually. i think it just might go on like this for while. i was able to take a nap around 11 and from 3-4.

i am going to take a long walk now, such a nice day. really would like things to pick up.

well... if you really want to push things along, you might try a slow jog (that's what i did -- on uneven ground -- immediately before labor began). also you could try a slow jog up and down stairs. my doula recommends curb walking. hold someone's hand, and walk with one foot on the curb, the other on the pavement.

contractions feel nothing like i was expecting. i guess i was expecting pain in my entire belly. this is all under my belly.so my whole pelvis. and just like a very very painful cramp. it kind of is a wave, like i can feel it starting and by 30 seconds in it peaks and i am in the most pain and then it starts to subside.

it is slow going. we took a long brisk walk. i really just don't want to do much cause i don't want to waste energy, i mean i have already been having these contractions for 13 hours!

Hang in there, and take it easy if you can. Remember that there's probably a reason why your body is taking it slow, perhaps baby isn't in an ideal position, something as simple as a tilted head can cause your labor to go slowly. And remember that's a GOOD thing, you don't want to try to push out a baby that's not in an ideal position!!!!

My first labor was 44 hours, and the interventions started at hour 36. Turned out that baby was posterior, he required a vacuum and an episiotomy to get out. I know now that if they had just left me alone, my body maybe could have turned him on my own. My body was certainly trying its best!!!

You can do it mama!!! Labor vibes coming your way!!

i think that baby is posterier. i think lo turned cause i have that flat spot. not sure what i can do...i'm going to spinning babies right now...but please tell me what worked for you btdt mamas.

i am really taking it easy. i totally have that burst of energy and i have been fighting it all day! cause i know enough not to make a mistake and use it all up.

i am worried about a fizzle out really, but at the same time i feel like, my body gave no signs this whole time, and i am due in like 3 days, so i feel like this is it, just slow.

dh is being really great. he comes and holds me and does the dancing thing if i am standing and rubs my head and back through the contractions.

mom is making dinner.

I am not a btdt mama, but I heard hands and knees postion through contractions can help, especially if your pelvis is raised and shoulders are low. I think they call it polar bear position. It is supposed to help baby out of the pelvis slightly to give it more room to turn and at the same time the baby's back, which is heavier than the front, floats toward your belly. My mw used this move on a mama who's baby was coming down sideways. Good luck, and you are smart to conserve your energy. Trust your body and let it do it's thing!
