Which vitamins and minerals to combat stress and anxiety??

DH is in the middle of another health anxiety crisis. I've had enough. This time he can't breath. He refuses to go on meds. He refuses to go to counselling. I'm going to try diet instead. Can you tell me which vitamins and minerals he needs to combat stress and anxiety? Any other helpful recommendations would be appreciated too.
TIA

I found this book in my library last year and really liked it. It breaks down the different types of anxiety, and discusses how anxiety and depression can be mixed. It offers herbs and supplements based on your symptoms.

He has another book Healing Anxiety Naturally, I think it's newer but I have not read it yet.

I suffer from moderate Anxiety and mild depression. Personally, I seem to do best when I take a multi, 2000 mg omega-3, and liquid b-12 daily. I'm sure there are lots helpful supplements. But if I try to take too many things on a daily basis I get overwhelmed. So I stick with those three.

I truly believe supplements are just as effective as prescription meds in most cases. Good luck, it's not an easy thing to deal with. But it can get better.

Caffiene sets off anxiety and panic attacks. Sugar, artificial colors and flavors. Too much refined foods...

Get him on some high quality fish oils, and a nice fat multi vitamin, maybe some extra D.

Does he exercise and keep a normal sleep schedule? That helps tremendously.

Thanks Mich. Is there a reason the B12 is in liquid form??

Non-med way that's helping me immensely...I'm almost off medication since I started all of this.

very easy to start -

*try to get 8 hrs of uninterupted sleep. starting sleep at 9-10pm
*sunlight exposure midday for 20 minutes
*exercise-preferably cardio for 20 min every other day to start
*cut out the caffeine and refined sugars

have these levels tested and supplement if necessary

*Vitamin D-3 (I get mine at Homefirst it comes with probiotics also) if deficient
*Vitamin B-12 (liquid form, I think the liquid form is more easily absorbed in body) if deficient
*High-quality fish oil
*Thyroid (natural) if deficient
*FOR WOMEN Progesterone (natural) if deficient

this was suggested by my chiropractor and seems to be helping me

*Alfalfa tablets from BernardJensen Int'l (really cheap...like $10 for 1000) I take 4 per day
