Help me! AGGGGGH

Hi,

My daughter is 14 months old and I am really struggling. I cannot drop a pound and am heavier than when I was pregnant! Before I had her, I followed a strict low-carbohydrate diet (about 40 grams a day in the form of fruits/veggies) and did alot of cardio. I gained almost 45 pounds when I was pregnant (all in the 3rd trimester) and another 15 breastfeeding. My friend said this can happen sometimes, that she lost weight breastfeeding and her sister dropped 25 pounds the month that she quit nursing :P

I don't really want to nurse anymore, however, I have not begun vaccinating yet and they recommend two years of nursing for non/selectively vac. kids. I feel obligated to nurse at least through this years cold/flu/swine flu season but I am tired, don't have the energy for heavy cardio like before and I am not sure low-carbing is safe while still bf. Please, any and all advice would be appreciated. :0

why don't you start slow? instead of low carbing completely, just start dropping some of your carb choices for more whole grain or high protien choices. And start walking a little bit each day. You know, start your changes in moderation. Some of your energy loss may just be from having a toddler, and you won't find that stopping BFing will be a magic cure. You might find that even with moderate changes, you can reclaim some of your energy and lose some weight.

I am in the same boat - I can not for the life of me lose weight. I have been on WW & lost 2 pounds over 2 months & promptly gained them back during a vacation. I have been running doing pilates you name it with no luck. We don't vaccinate either & I struggle with that but my self esteem is in the toilet because of the extra weight.
I have no advice really just I am right there with you.
One thing a friend of mine says to me often is that this time (nursing) is very short in the life of our children really just a blip of time. I think of that often when I want to stop.
