dd sleeps in a open bottom night gown, I've been calling it a "sweet pea" outfit - remember popeye...
Anyway... we just started sleeping in the dark. I'm forcing myself to make the latched work in the dark. I had to build up on practice latches during the day - where I feel around for her mouth and my nipple - by closing my eyes and such. Turning the light on was becomming a trap -dd and I evicted ourselves to the guest bedroom our first night back from the hospital. Ds and hubby are using the master rm. The light being on was giving her the wrong idea and she was staying up alot and wouldn't let me turn it off.
Anyway - some latches I do sitting up and some laying down. I save the harder laying down ones for early morning when I'm trying to grab just a few more winks and it is to my benefit to keep her unjostled. I can see a bit better then too

As for diapers - we are doing cloth and though a few weeks ago I think I changed 15 one night... we are down to about 4 diapers a night. I have some fancy snap cloth I save for night time and use the prefolds during hte day.
When she stirs I get up and get a diaper and change her in the bed then sit up and nurse her. Changing table just became pointless... it is like a matter of building the courage to just do what works... like changing her in bed and trusting that and keeping the light out and getting those dark latches to work.
Now for getting back into "my bed" and having a true family bedroom again
