I was thinking of getting a Babyhawk, but they are pretty pricey (imho) for what they are, and I've seen similar type mei tai carriers for much less. Is there a big difference? Also, I'm not sure whether to get a Moby or a Sleepywrap ... they both look comfortable, but is one really better than the other? TIA.

You could find a Babyhawk used too if you'd like to save some $, but be careful about buying just any mei tai because it's cheap (brand new), as there are some badly designed and sewn mei tais (and other baby carrier types) online that aren't going to be comfortable and some are not going to be safe to use. Whichever brand you decide to buy, check out the reviews on thebabywearer.com first before purchasing.
Moby and Sleepywrap are sooo similar. Main difference is that SW has lycra. You'd be really fine with either one.

I agree, you definitely have to be careful. I have seen some really terribly made, poor quality MTs out there that people got great deals on on ebay or Etsy.....carriers I wouldn't trust my baby in.
There are good sellers, but honestly, the Babyhawk and other similar MTs are priced quite fairly for the quality of materials and the labor that go into them.
That said, you can find good deals on gently used, good-quality MTs here on the Trading Post, or at the Babywearer on the FSOT forum. If you're crafty, you can make one yourself -- the DIY forum at the Babywearer has lots of resources for that.
As for the wraps, the Sleepy Wrap is definitely bouncier IME -- although I used one and loved it when my baby was really little, it wasn't quite as supportive in the long run as my Moby when she got super-heavy.
