s/o Do you have a sure-fire supply booster?

The "OMG Beer Works" thread got me thinking...several moms said that beer doesn't work for them but other things do. For instance, one mom said oatmeal helped her supply. I'd never thought of that (I hate oatmeal so I wouldn't try it...but still)

So I wanted to ask what your supply boosting tricks were. Maybe if we had it all in one place it would help new moms!

Mine: Water. Seriously. If my supply dips I know I'm not drinking enough water. Guzzle down a few tall glasses and it's back up in a couple of hours.

Fenugreek. It was the big booster for me.

I hated oatmeal too but I did eat it while I was nursing. I had issues pumping enough once I went back to work so I tried every trick out there.

I tried Fenugreek+Blessed Thistle and didn't notice much of a difference. Once I had been on domperidone for a few days my supply increased dramatically. I dropped the Fenugreek & Blessed Thistle after that.

When I had supply issues with dd1, I tried 3 or 4 different things but oatmeal really worked the bet for me.

lots of water + pumping after feedings + domperidone

Oatmeal (in the first year... after that, not so much)

I can't eat more than 2 oatmeal cookies without a supply spike

Luckily for me that wears off after the first year and I can eat as many as I want.

I will have to try the oatmeal, and drinking more water. Here is something else I'm trying, that my nanny suggested:

I am interested in any other unexpected suggestions, too.

Right now, I'm having to pump at 3 or 4 in the morning, and it's killing me.

Fenugreek and water. Plus eating (lots of extra calories). My theory is that's why the beer works (it does for me) because it has extra calories on top of what you're usually eating.

I had a lot of issues with production. Goats Rue worked for my stubborn supply. Motherlove More Milk Special Blend has it in it.

Hands down Fenugreek for me. Not the tea, just straight fenugreek in a capsule.

If I eat one bowl of Quaker 'high fiber' oatmeal at night I have a LOT of milk by the next morning. I've read high fiber and oatmeal work, so I picked out the high fiber oatmeal and man does that make milk for me.
But I tend to have oversupply issues sometimes and if I don't drink enough water this kicks it up real quick and then I'm almost engorged for a few days.
