I know all about the "popular" brands...Ergo, Beco, Angelpack, etc. I've tried on most of them and I just haven't felt the love! So what about some lesser known carriers? Tell me about them...cost, where I can find them, and why you love yours. Thanks!

i think some of the best ones on the market are only available for customs (or very rarely have in-stock carriers), unfortunately. but they are made with great care and the designs are very well thought-out. Also incredibly pricey, though, too. Check out Bloo Kangaroo for the Kanga carriers (J, X or XT depending on age/size of child and wearing preferences), Dream Carrier, Olives and Applesauce. you can sometimes pick up good ones on fsot over at thebabywearer.com so maybe check that out. Perhaps if you're looking for an in-stock option try Calyx. I've never tried one because i don't like the internal harness thingy because i EC, but i've heard they are like no other SSC and super comfy for shoulders/back.
also, if you're looking for something quick and easy to put on and doesn't put strain on shoulders/back, you might like chunei. they are my favorite carrier after trying a zillion different MT's and SSC's and not loving any of them. www.hosausa.com and www.thekoreanbaby.blogspot.com are great vendors with quality products. there are a few threads here about chunei, if you want to do a search to learn more

I had an ergo and sold it, and then I bought a SSC locally and love it. http://babiesbeyondborders.com/ It is super comfy and I love what they stand for!

I love our Buckle Tai from Two Mommas Designs. It is very well made and super comfy for me, DH and DD. They were great to work with also. They usually have great fabics choices too.

We use the Baby Trekker alot, at home, that's what we use the most. We normally use woven wraps when out and about.

Hands down, my fave is Olives and Applesauce !! I find the carrier very comfortable. It is a very nice looking carrier, she uses many designer fabrics. You can get two different sizes and also a half buckle. I love my O&A

The Hoppediz Bondolino is little known and yet so comfortable! It has tons of features in it, but for some reason, it just didn't really get "popular" in NA.

When ds wasn't so gigantically huge i loved my toddler Patapum. Way more comfy than the ergo or any other SSC I've tried (though I haven't had a chance to try an O&A or Kanga) and probably the best price for a new SSC! The strap configuration is slightly different than other SSCs in that there is an extra strap that attaches the side of the body directly to the straps. What this does is add an extra point of adjustability in a way that can greatly affect the comfort - by being able to specifically draw your baby's body in closer to yours without having to shorten the shoulder straps. The Patapum is also made out of canvas unlike most other SSCs which are made of twill. Canvas is a slightly heavier fabric and that much more sturdy.... which means that much more supportive.
