Blisters on 3 week old bum

NAK

I was wondering if there is anything that will help with the blisters. There is a half dollar size red mark on both cheeks with fluid filled blisters on each cheek as well. I change his diapers often so he doesn't sit in a wet one for too long. I have tried penaten's cream and bourdeux's butt paste all to no avail. Any ideas would be great.

Also could it be something I ate that caused this? He has had a few green diapers but for the most part they are wattery yellow seedy diapers.

Poor baby! I think should call your pediatrician just to be safe.
That being said, what sort of detergent are you using?

What kind of diapers are you using as well--they could be allergic to synthetic fabrics.

We are using Bumkins Bamboo and Regular Bumkins. We wash using Dreft which he doesn't seem to have a reaction to on other parts of his body. I was trying to go back to maybe something I ate and the only thing I can think of is the quesidilla with jalapenos that I had 3 days ago.

I am going to call the pedi tomorrow if it isn't any better. I am letting him air dry as much as possible as well...he seems to like that so much that he relaxes and pee's and poops all over.

You might want to post over in the allergy area. Could be a food reaction from something you ate, not necessarily the peppers. My daughter reacts to several foods and I am pretty certain corn is the cause of her "butter" (as in her skin was melting off when she pooped) butt.

Bourdeux's (the new natural one) worked pretty well for damage control for her but it only cleared up when I removed corn completely from my diet.

The dreft could be your problem. All the enzymes, brighteners, and whiteners in normal detergents can react with your babies urine. Best to stick with diaper friendly detergents. I love Country Save. Lots of people love Charlie's Soap, and Allens Naturally. Good luck!

I might try using a natural fabric as well--maybe some cotton prefolds or dipes lined with bamboo or cotton fleece.
