Pumping schedule

It looks like my break schedule may change in Jan of next year. At that point DD will be 9mo and I'm planning on still BFing at that point so I assume that I'll still need to pump. I get a total of 1hr break. Right now it's split into two 30min breaks. This has worked great for me. It's going to change to a 45 and a 15min break. We'll be lucky to get the whole 15min and there's a good chance that break may not happen some days. I think I may get 5-7min of actual pump time. Without that break I'll be going 5 to 5 1/2 hours between pump sessions. I can pump as soon as I'm done working. If that change were to happen now I think I'd be in real trouble with my supply. But DD will be 9mo by the time this happens so I have no idea what to expect. I can always add pumping sessions outside of work in order to get enough milk for her but I'm worried about what 5hr will do to my supply since this will be 5 days a week.

My break schedule is not flexible at all. I have no say in when they happen so I'm just trying to prepare myself and see if there's anything I can do to help the situation.

Morgana, from what I understand, your employer has to give you time and a place to pump. You do have some time to work it out, so hopefully others will chime in with suggestions on ways to approach your situation.

There are no laws in NV about this so employers here aren't required to do anything. There are other people who have expressed concern about the new break schedule so they had HR come talk to us. We were told that they are required to give us one hour worth of breaks during an 8 hr shift. One of those breaks has to be at least 30 min for a meal. The rest of the hour can be broken up anyway the employer wants. The law doesn't say when those breaks have to occur during the shift. Even though the break time isn't flexible within my section of the company, my immediate boss has asked me if this is going to cause trouble with pumping. So, maybe he's willing to help out but his boss has been against me pumping from day one so if she finds out he's making special arrangements for me then we'll both be in trouble. That top boss has said that I can do whatever I want during my breaks except leave property. She has given me a place to pump but has made it clear that she will not change the time or duration of my breaks. I have time to work it out but my boss has asked me how this will effect me so I'm assuming he'd like an answer sometime soon.

Based on her being 9mos at that time I'm hoping going 5 1/2 hours between sessions won't be too hard on my supply but I have no idea what to expect.
