A couple days ago I was at a local bush and found a shrub/small tree (maybe 7-8 feet tall) that had lots of red berry-like things on it. They were larger than a cherry, but smaller than a strawberry and looked very much like a prickly pear except with more bumps (they were actually little holes with pointy things sticking out of them, like seeds). The flesh was yellow and smelled like a mix between a plum and a peach. I've been searching online and can't find out what these things are!! Anyone have any idea? It's driving me nuts!! Thanks!
