This is the longest I've ever been pregnant!

I went into labor with Ian at 37+5 and he was born 44 hours labor at 38 weeks exactly. He was 9.5 pounds!

I went into labor with Connor at 38+4 and he was born just a few hours later at 38+5. He was 8.5 pounds!

I'm 38+5 today.

The last two days I've actually been asking my body NOT to go into labor, because Connor has been sick. But he's on the mend now, not 100% yet, but definitely at a point that I'd be okay with leaving him with the nanny if I go into labor. Monday night I was seriously freaking out about the possibility of having to leave him if I went into labor, he was so sick!

My body listened to me, the last two days I've had almost no contractions, very little discomfort even. This morning I told my body that I'm ready again, that Connor is okay, I even was able to get a little sleep last night.

And you know what? I've had some contractions! Nothing "real" yet, just back to the uncomfortable tightening I had been feeling before. It is SO fascinating to me that my body was "smart" enough to not go into labor while Connor was sick. I completely understand the link between ME being sick and my body not going into labor, but for my body to pick up on vibes from my CHILD and not go into labor??? WOW! And he's been nursing a TON the last several days, so I know my body was getting mixed signals from that (lots of nip stim, which would normally trigger contractions).

I'm amazed by my body right now! But I'm still hoping that it listens to me now and agrees that we're ready again I'm okay if it waits until Friday, it would be easier on my husband, my mom (who is making the drive down as soon as I call her) and the dr I like is on call at the birth center even!

This is the longest I've been pregnant too - by far! DD was born at 34 weeks exactly, and I am 38+4 today!! I am so happy to be carrying this little one full term!

So glad your son is feeling better. It must be such a relief!

Glad Connor is feeling better! I hope you get your labor wishes, too! (Though as a mama who goes past her due dates, I am a bit green!)

Going to 40 weeks isn't so bad, I promise! You are doing a great job letting him pick when he's ready. I hope he chooses the most convenient time! Hehe.

Our bodies are SO amazing when we let them do their thing. It's a great reminder to have complete faith!

Glad to hear Connor is getting better.

Today would be the day that I had my last child (DD). She was born 14 days before her EDD and Monday was 14 days before this baby's EDD so I've passed it now. I really thought I'd have the baby Mon-Wed of this week, but nope. She's perfectly content in there.

While I'm ready to be done, now that I'm so close to the date I'm actually coming up with things I can still do last minute. I'm actually feeling pretty good these days, with the exception of the acid reflux every day.

So happy to hear he is feeling better. My son was mildly sick, and I was dreading having a baby while he wasn't feeling well... talk about stress! He is also feeling better now

Tomorrow will be the longest I've been pregnant . . . and I'm leading the LLL meeting. You would think an obligation (without any other leaders planning on attending tomorrow) like that I would have a baby today or tonight, eh?

Here's hoping!

Glad Connor is on the mend! i had my dd at 40+6, but can relate because I was losing mucus plug the day my dd came down with this cold and freaked. I got it (as I mentioned in other threads) and am feeling better and better. Not sure what to hope for, but I think stress does play a part in delaying labor, maybe.

I'm hoping to make it a few more days and just praying my dd can stay healthy that long.

Yay! I'm glad things are going well, your DS is feeling better and you are showing signs of impending labor again.

DS was born at 39+1, which I will be tomorrow. I'm sure this one will gestate a little longer, though.
