Did anyone use G-diapers with prefolds instead of the disposable liners?

I've heard you can use g-diapers with prefolds instead of the disposable liners. Did anyone do this? How did you fold the prefolds? How well did it work? What prefolds did you buy? Thanks!

lots of people shift to using prefolds.
I don't think that is what G-diapers originally planned for their company to be the gateway diaper to cloth.

I use g-diaper covers with prefolds as my "diaper bag" diapers. My DD is really wiggly and they are easier to get on when we're out and I don't have all the usual toys to distract her. They've worked fine for us. I don't think I would go out and buy them to use all the time. I had used the g-diaper system on a trip with my older DD and so I already had the covers.

As for just using g-diapers as covers, for the same price you can get higher quality covers. I have 4 g-diaper covers that I use sometimes with cloth and more often with their inserts doubled up at night.

I like using gdiaper covers with prefolds. (I got a starter kit super cheap at a resale shop) I use size medium on my 15lbs 4.5 month old stuffed with infant prefolds folded sizeways. I think the inner liner holds them well. I haven't actually tried them with the flushies yet!

I used them with ds and plan to with this one. They were great when my AIO's were not fitting. Ds was inbetween sizes. So the g's woth prefolds worked great. they now have a washable insert that is organic cotton and I think hemp or bamboo. I might try A few and use them in my diaper bag.

When my pockets and AIOs are in the laundry, this is exactly what i turn to. I use either PFs or microfiber inserts with fleece on top. They're not my first choice only because of the curly velcro, other than that they work great. No leaks and easy to use. They are my diaper of choice when traveling because they are smaller to pack and easier to clean, and we can use the flushable insert if we have to (though I never flush them). We've also done the opposite - used the gDiaper flushable insert in another cover or as a booster in an AIO if I need a fool proof system for whatever reason (on airplane for example).

PP mentioned that gDiaper didn't intend to be the gateway to cloth but they've finally recognized that they are - the just started selling cloth inserts. They look nice but pricey.

g-Diapers were TOTALLY my gateway diaper. lol.

I personally didn't like stuffing them with prefolds because they're not really made for it and an actual cover works SO much better. Thirsties are my favorite covers - they never leaked for me.
