There are a handful of us struggling with eviction dates, and I really feel for you all. I went late with #1 and was induced after a membranes sweep broke my water before I was ready to go into labor - 24 hours with on contractions and GBS+. (Live and learn!!) #2 came right around 40 weeks. #3 was right around there, too.

But this time is the first time I know for SURE when we conceived. I was doing OPKs. I know the days we had sex. This is new to me! I am used to just having to trust the ultrasound tech.

So my two U/S (8 and 18 weeks) both put my due date at 8 days BEFORE what I know to be my due date. This is how we dated my other pregnancies since they were all happy accidents, and those 8 days are precious when you get to the end. They insisted I change my due date, but my midwife agreed that would be silly to do since I am so sure about my dates.

So here I am at 39+2, sick as a dog with some nasty stomach virus, and really wondering how things would be different if I were 40+3 and thinking about how to possible avoid induction (because labor isn't happening when I am puking and can't eat). It makes me wonder about mamas who didn't know their dates for sure (like me before), and are now facing the stress and challenges of post dates when maybe they aren't.

For the record, my son, born at nearly 42 weeks, was 7 pounds 11 ounces and so NOT late according to all the usual signs.

Hugs to all the mamas facing eviction. 8 years later, I don't care for a second that my son came through an induction, though it was definitely not the way I wanted it to go at the time!
