does it always work??
I am 4 cm 100% effaced I had the MW sweep my membranes and still nothing
I think I will never go into labor
what is the hold up???
anyone with this experience??
what do you do if it dosent work??

It doesn't always work right away. I remember after my sweep with DS, they planned to come and see me at home to repeat it 48 hours later, and every 48 hours until it worked. Fortunately I went into labour shortly after the first one, and they were at my house 48 hours later but it was to deliver him
Did your MW plan a follow up just in case it doesn't work the first time?
Your cervix certainly sounds favourable, though! Sending some ELVs your way!

Wish I knew! I was 3cm and 75% effaced day before yesterday and all the sweeping got me was a few hours of cramps and then two hours of contractions that night that petered out after about 2 hours. :

Nope - if baby isn't ready, it won't get labor started. That's why it's considered one of the "safer" induction methods. Babe is telling you it's not time yet. It might cause cramping for a few hours, or even contractions for a while, but it won't start labor if everything else isn't ready.

I had mine swept on Tues afternoon. Here I am on Weds evening and I'm still having some bloody show but not much else.

I'm seeing my MW tomorrow and she will sweep again.
