Looking for Clomid stories... - Page 2

I have PCOS. I got pregnant on my 5th cycle of clomid at 200mg. I was also on 2000 mg of metformin and had 2 IUIs in the cycle that I conceived (no ovidrel shot, but several u/s to monitor follicle growth throughout each cycle). I didn't ovulate without clomid, but compared to a "normal" cycle, I ovulated late (around cd 20 or 21). I had some side effects: headaches, visual disturbances, weight gain (about 12lbs in all), and mood swings, but those didn't occur until I got up to 150mg. It was all worth it, I have a healthy 15 month old and will be starting clomid again in May if I don't conceive naturally in the next few months.

i did 3 rounds of 50mg and it was unsuccessful for me. though it was successful for making me extremely emotional and irritable (PMS x10) bloated and hot flashes and I could definately tell when I was ovulating cuz I could barely do up my pants and felt like I had a watermelon down there. Though the first month was prolly the worst, the symptoms eased off in the 2nd and 3rd months

We conceived on our first cycle of clomid with an ovidrel trigger shot. We had 3 follicles on u/s, and conceived my daughter.

I conceived ds1 (now 9!) on my 1st round of Clomid for unexplained infertility after 1.5 yrs trying.

I did oral meds, monitoring daily w/RE for follicle devl., E2 levels, all that stuff. When follicles and blood work looked good, did injection of hcg at home, then went in for IUI 24 (?) hrs later. followed by 12 wks of progesterone suppositories.

We conceived ds the first time.

Side effects were: hot flashes, serious moodiness and crankiness... I think that's it.

Good luck!

I'm starting clomid tomorrow. Any advice on what time of day is best to take it? Or if its better to take it with our without food?

I was on Clomid and Metformin together in probably an unconventional way.. I didn't experience any side effects.

I wasn't getting my period on a regular basis so my doctor just started me on the two of them together, he had already determined through blood work that I was not ovulating. I took Clomid for 5 days and continued taking the Metformin for two weeks past that and two weeks after I ended the Clomid I was pregnant. We had been trying to conceive for almost two years so it was shocking that it worked so quickly for us!

Good luck!

Some people claim taking it at night was better.

I don't think it matters whether you take it with or without food. Unlike antibiotics or prenatal vitamins which may make one nauseated, I never had that sort of very short term reaction with Clomid, instead, I had more of the short term, but not immediate, reactions. I felt kind of weird every cycle I took it. Hot flashes, sweatiness, random mood swings, etc. in the days after I took it. It takes a while to take effect, and the effect tends to be worse the more cycles you take it.
