Who to see for Bipolar II?

With the move I am still struggling to get everyone set up with Docs. I do have a Psychiatrist appointment set up for my husband on the 28th of this month.

Now, I just called and got an appointment for him for therapy. However, this guy is a LPC (Liscensed Professional Counselor). In Lawrence my husband saw a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist.

So should he be seeing a LPC or a Psychologist for his therapy? Or does it really matter?

Only a Psychiatrist can order meds but I would think any councilor who is very familiar with BP can council your DH as long as both are comfortable with it.

I did know that about Pshychiatrist only be able to prescribe meds. He is meeting with her on the 28th. But something I didn't know prior to my husbands diagnosis.

I am going to call the LPC office on Monday and verify he knows how to treat people with Bipolar. There are other ones in the office if we need to change.
