Alexandria, VA delayed-Vax friendly ped

Help! I hate our pediatrician practice. It is huge, and has recently split into a bazillion different buildings it seems, and I have almost never seen the same doctor twice even though my son has been going there for 2 years. And they're pretty bitchy about delaying even any vaxes. I would like to find someone new before the new baby comes in February.

Anyone?

Dr. Matt Irwin in Old Town Alexandria is known in the area for being the most holistic ped around these parts -- he even takes families who don't vax at all. However, my understanding is that he doesn't take insurance, so you'd have to file your own claims if I am remembering that correctly about him.

We go to Dr. Murphy of Murphy & Staats in Burke, which is not too far (we drive 40 minutes to see him). He is totally cool with delayed vaxing. I have heard of another practice in that area that is okay with different vax schedules, but I can't remember the name of it right now.

Thx! Nothing annoys me more than doctors who don't deal with insurance, though. Maybe I"ll check and see about the one you go to...

Vienna Pediatrics is supposed to be ok with delayed and no vaxxing as well.

try all pediatrics; they have several locations and are flexible with the vaccination schedule; also, I like that there are multiple doctors there (you dont necessarily see the same one each time; while they may not become "familiar" with your family, they can consult with one another and its easy to get a second opinion.
