Keagan Ryan arrived yesterday at 1:57 p.m.
He's doing very well and nursing... well... constantly.
Labor was.. labor! but 40+ hours of very intense labor with no real progress, followed by two doses of cytotech (I agreed to it begrudgingly, it was that or a section) an epidural with too short a catheter, an epidural with an appropriate length catheter that punctured a vein, and finally, a third epidural above the original site, AROM, and finally progression from 4cm-10cm in about 30 minutes. He was posterior, but at least head down. I escaped with only a few stitches, so all is well. I did wind up having pitocin as ell, but only *after* delivery to help with the bleeding.
SO many interventions I'd hoped to avoid, but we ultimately made it out the other side, and all is well. Also, I'm pretty comfortable with feeling like we really did try to avoid as many interventions as possible. Sadly, it just wasn't the way things worked out.
We''re all home and fine. Keagan is sleeping in the wrap while I type, and the older kids are all fine!
