Does Real Science 4 Kids teach evolution

We are Classical homeschoolers and I'm thinking of switching from what we are using now, which is linear, to Real Science to fit more with a classical approach. I didn't see on their website whether they teach evolution, creationism, or intelligent design.

It's not clear on the website (which annoys me GREATLY), but the books are written by a proponent of intelligent design.

We have Chemistry pre-level 1, and the first chapter includes the assertion that everything in the world was designed, and the assertion could easily have been left out, as the topic was "atoms".

I'm not a fan of ID, and so I'm not entirely thrilled with the book, but aside from the ID stuff, it seems pretty well done. I wish they were upfront about their approach, though. Not spelling it out seems so sneaky.

I very, very highly doubt it, from what I know, they are ID proponents. For a classical science curriculum, I currently have R.E.A.L. Science Odyssey picked out, they are secular, and they don't cover evolution in the first four years, but say they will in their next set of years.

Here's a handy list I found:

No it doesn't. The author of the series is a proponent of Intelligent Design.

I've looked at it, and though I'm not a proponent of ID, I find RS4K to be acceptable. I'm not bothered by editing once in a while, ie. the atoms example above. There are several threads on this at the Well Trained Mind forums, so you might want to search the archives there for more input.

I agree. The subject of evolution is studiously avoided. Intelligent design is not taught. I have a university degree in bio-sciences and recoil at anything sniffing of the Intelligent Design hypothesis, yet I found RS4K acceptable. You would need other resources to teach evolution, though.

Thanks everyone! Maybe I'll get it to go along with the other science we are using.
