Velvety yarn?

Thread Starter
My son fell in love with a large velvety teddy bear at Nana's house and I want to make him some stuff for Christmas that will be velvety but I need to find the yarn first. Anyone know of a velvety yarn?

google chenille yarn and you'll find what your looking for.

There was also something at Michaels I was fondling, not chenille, but maybe, suede yarn? Not real suede, like leather, but fuzzy feeling.... You might just want to check out whatever chains like that you have nearby - JoAnns, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, whatever.
Ok, google brought me this - Lion brand Suede yarn. It was velvety feeling, IMO.
HTH!

Anything Alpaca is super soft. Knit Picks has it at a reasonable price.

you;re gonna love this , i found some today at the dollar tree, its not the most natural, obviously, but you could certainly get it made for a reasonable price this way

im making bumpy hats for my girls with it
the chenille and suedes at the other places were 5-15.00 per skein , so that was not in the budget for me
this ,even if i have to go back for more is still worth it
