OK this is a long shot but here goes. . .
In high school (80s) I started reading this paperback from the library -
A young college student gets pregnant. She doesn't tell anyone but needs to make money. There's a sleep study at the college where she could get paid to sleep so she signs up. She's not supposed to be pg but she doesn't tell anyone because she needs the money. Here's where it gets weird. When she's hooked up to the computers during the sleep sessions, her baby talks to the computers and looks up stuff and starts kind of posessing her. She starts exercising and can spout facts about how it will be good for her baby, but doesn't know where she learned that. It got really creepy,(now it doesn't seem so much, I mean as far as I can remember the baby just made her do things that were good for the baby) and she sensed something was strange so she decided to have an abortion. This was only about 1/2 way through the book so I knew that things were going to get weird, so I returned it. At the time I was staunchly pro-Life but wanted that character to kill her baby. It wasn't the abortion that made me return the book. The book scared me, I don't really do horror.
Any ideas, anyone? I've always wondered what happened?!?!?!
