I am only 17 years old and planning to go to college and not have sex anytime soon,” Simone, a devout Christian who believes the Bible prohibits premarital sex, told ABC News. “There is no chance of getting cervical cancer, so there’s no point in getting the shot.”

US law, however, requires immigrants seeking to become US citizens to receive a list of vaccinations, Gardasil being among them.
This is ridiculous....requiring female immigrants to receive this vaccine defies all logic. But then again Hep B for all newborns despite risk factors defies all logic too.

The HPV vax in & of itself its completely idiotic anyways, theres virtually 100 diff. strains of HPV, and the vax only "protects" against 4.....So theres still quite a huge chance of getting it anyway. Meanwhile all the girls who get the vax believe they're safe from HPV & cervical cancer, but they *could* still be very much at risk depending on their lifestyle.
I guess the religous exemption is only for citizens....

Yes...I suppose immigrants do not deserve religious freedom.

I posted this last week, she can file an exemption, but it has to be against ALL vaccines, not a specific one. It's still ridiculous, because once she's a citizen, depending on what state she lives in, she could easily file an exemption against just a single vaccine. But she's not afforded that right until she's a citizen.

I can't in Nevada. I think there's lots of states like Nevada too. The only way I can get an exemption is to take the religous exemption...which only covers ALL vaccines. It makes me so angry because say I just won't do chicken pox, but maybe all the others, and yet I have to "pretend" my DD isn't vaxed at all. Grrrrr.

Anyway, it's still COMPLETE BS that ANYone be told "Gardasil or go home." It insults every fiber of my being. I'm so starting to hate living in this country.
