Dh wants socks for Christmas. He is an electrician by day, comfy shoe guy by night. I bought some worsted superwash, but I have a limited amount. I wonder if this will make a super bulky sock. Also, I can't find a toe-up men's pattern on rav. I got "Getting Started Knitting Socks" from the library, all of hers are cuff down. I have no problem buying actual sock yarn and using one of those patterns.
My actual questions are -
-what is a no frills man looking for in a sock?
-will a worsted weight go any faster than a sock yarn?
-toe-up or cuff-down? any great toe-up patterns?
-rib at just the top or the entire leg?
-any other things your dh is particular about w/ his socks?
Thanks!
