^^The last I read, boys are fours times more likely to be diagnosed, but its still not clear whether or not boys are more likely to develop autism, or if autism just presents differently in girls (eg. rates of higher-functioning autism and asperger's is higher in boys, but girls who do have autism are more likely to be lower-functioning.) Nevertheless, I'm *assuming* the reason they only looked at boys is because if they included girls they would somehow have to adjust for the lower prevalence in girls... which is extremely difficult when we don't yet understand why (if?) the disparity exists.

I thought it was 10 to 1 for boys over girls with autism. In my work experience, that has been true. 1 girl for about every 10 to 12 boys we had in class.
