I am reviewing the breastfeeding content in our "family life education" in our school district for various reasons. It's fairly slim. I am interested in suggesting resources for them to supplement the curriculum with, but I'm not really sure what would be appropriate at what grade. Is there already some sort of breastfeeding curriculum that would be a useful supplement (30 min portion at 5th through 10th grade or something like that) to what is fairly basic and NOTHING MENTIONED IN MIDDLE SCHOOL AT ALL.
My biggest concern is in all caps--if we're trying to break down societal boundaries, we have to do it with the 11-14 crowd these days. Expectations to BF need to be gently ingrained here. Just exposure to these ideas a few times through adolescence may help.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a prepared BF curriculum to review?
TIA
