First of all, congrats to those of you with new babies this week! I haven't been on MDC since my original birth story post, so I know I've missed a lot of you! But YAY! Lots of sweet September babies so far!
We got home from the hospital on Sunday. Before I was released the OB that did the section came in to tell me (I think she was rubbing it in) that it was a good thing we did the c-sec when we did because I had started to rupture, and she'd been afraid of that happening. She also said that my sacrum had a "speed bump" on it that prevents my babies from dropping, so it's pretty impossible for me to give birth vaginally. If I ever have another it'll be a scheduled c. That kinda threw me for a loop, but at least I know that I did the right thing and that I won't need to go through anything like that ever again.
Joey is doing great! He's a BIG eater - he was 7lbs 13oz when we left the hospital and now he's back up to 8lbs 8oz! He is also a big sleeper - so we take lots of naps and he has a stretch of about 5 hours during the night and goes right back to sleep. I, on the other hand, have not been so lucky falling asleep so quickly but I'm hoping that will change with the routine. DS1 is adjusting nicely as well, though he's really in a tough teething stage right now so he's super cranky. And it doesn't help that mommy can't pick him up at all. Especially when his grandmother is around - she is great with him, but the schedule we've been on when we're alone is all jacked up; she feeds him different foods, he's no longer sleeping with us, etc. Its a lot of changes all at once for the little guy!
I'm recovering nicely; seems like a world of difference between my last section and this one. I had a lot of pp problems last time so this time I feel marvelous comparatively. I just have to keep reminding myself to take it easy. And DH is FINALLY done with the big job an hour away, so he is home for a few days into next week. I actually feel like I have a husband!
Things are going well. I am happy that it's all settling down, at least for now. Off to feed the new guy!
