Baby HAs Thrush! Help!

My 8 and a half month old has thrush. About three days ago there were just a few tiny white dots on his tongue, and then two days ago, I bought some baby probiotics and started to give the regular dosage to him twice a day, and it has only gotten worse. Is it possible to treat thrush with probiotics, or do I need to take him to the doctor? I'm worried that I'm going to get it, because of course, he's breastfed and it doesn't seem like he has any discomfort from it. We're going out of town for the weekend, in a few hours, so I can't take him to the doctor until Monday, if need be. Does anyone know how I can treat this naturally, fast? Help! Any suggestions would be very appreciated. Thank you!

I would use diluted grapefruit seed extract or gentian violet. You can buy the GSE at most health food stores and you can get the GV OTC at most drug stores. Make sure to ask for the stuff that's made up in water or 0.001% (or whatever it is) ethanol. You can't use the kind that's made in methanol. Kellymom.com has some good yeast remedies!
