Is anyone else obsessed with CDing?

I had to order new prefolds the other day, and it was the thrill of my life. I was so delighted when they came in the mail. I was as excited as I would have been had DH come home with a giant diamond ring. So many parents I know look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I CD. But I love it! Is anyone else strangely obsessed with CDs?

Yep, I was. Which is how I ended up spending about 3K on my stash total.

A lot of money, yes, but I had a lot of fun doing it. And my son's tush was well treated!

Yes. I've journeyed through flats and prefolds, to pockets, to even a few AIOs -- I love them all, all for different reasons. We've been pretty much cloth diapering for nearly six years now (!). I must admit I am looking forward to SJ potty training, which she is close to ....

I think the best part of all, is helping other moms discover cloth diapers. None of my siblings are using cloth, but my two roommates from college use cloth now, as does dh's cousin (who is more into diapers than me, she actually sells them now!).

I've thought about setting up a booth here - on Earth Day, there's a fair with local businesses/organizations who can promote what they do which is environmentally friendly. I wonder if I've ordered from a couple of my cloth diaper sites long enough that they'd trust me with a "demonstration stash" that I could show people who were interested, and hand out cards for their sites in case anyone is interested ....

The nurse at our Ped's office always comments on our diapers; she just had a baby last year. We hadn't talked diapers (other than her comments on them) -- but dh took SJ in last week, and she told him that she is cloth diapering too, and likes Green Acre Designs best (our favorite pockets, too).

I'm actually disappointed that my EC'd baby is pretty much out of diapers. I want to have another baby so I can use my fancy diapers...and have an excuse to use more dipes and experiment more. I still haven't tried half the CD'ing methods I'm interested in trying. Obsessed? Oh, yeah.

Yes but in a diffrent way with my first every new CD I saw on line or on boards like these as long as it was under ohh $15 I HAD to have it (and CD cost a bit less then) and I'd end up ordering like 10 of them cause I'd "love them right untill the next type came out. This time I'm more realistic and "scientific" abut my approach I know the fabrics and syles I like I know my budget and what DH and I like best so my stash will be a little more exact but I still get giddy over it. I dream about the first fluff on baby pictures. I'm waiting nervously to find out the sex jsut so I can decide on a few cute boy or girl covers

When we were living in the US my SIL back in Canada used to order cloth diapers and have them shipped to me when she ordered from places that wouldn't ship to Canada. It was great. We'd get boxes of adorable new diapers arriving at our house, and I could get my fix without actually spending money on diapers we didn't need.

my obsession began with my request for diapers at my first baby shower ---- in 1989.
it continued through child number two and number three, and into a business as a small diaper manufacturer.

I go out every weekend shaking hands and introducing people to cloth -- for years now and I still love what I do and why I do it.

My obsession has calmed down, but we are moving into trainers territory. I have a feeling it's going to be coming back soon!

I'm obsessed in a totally different way - I'm CD-curious!

I have never even held a cloth diaper in my life. DS wasn't even potty-trained fully until 4 years and 2 months, so we went through more diapers than I care to think about.

I never even considered CDs until about a week ago. And really I don't even know what got me interested in it, but all of a sudden I really think I could handle it. So I am totally obsessed with researching them! I was going to go to a CD "garage sale" today at a local store, but couldn't make it. I am desperate to buy a couple and try them out, especially because DH is dubious that I will follow through and not be totally disgusted, LOL. And it is a big initial expense, since we've already passed the 10-diapers-a-day newborn phase.

I'm still pretty intimidated by all the lingo and whether I will want AIOs or pocket diapers, and how to wash them...but I'm going to give it a whirl!

Im an addict too

We EC so DS was totally out of nappies by 12 months. I didnt even realize til near the end of my second pregnancy that I now had an excuse to reignite my cloth diaper addiction....newborn diapers!!! Seriously is there anything cuter?! Plus you need heaps of those even when you EC cause they need so many changes at that stage. I think there should be an AA type meeting for cloth addicts....Only problem is nobody would actually want to get 'sober'

We won't start ttc #4 until November, but I spend plenty of time stash planning in my head, bookmarking sites, and researching yarn and soaker patterns now that I can knit. I love good old prefolds and pins and will mostly use them again, but plan on a dozen Motherease One Size this time around to make things easier for dh, and some itty bitty newborn fitted as well.

Can't wait to order--and also get busy knitting soakers and longies!

I first thought it's too much work, but when DS was 6 months he had lots of reactions to Pampers (and they smell horribly), Huggies, 7th Gen dipes, all of them. I ordered some dappis to try it out... And was surprised at how easy it was and how obsessive.
We then moved on to prefolds and eventually to some Nubunz pocket diapers for the night and car. I'm very happy with it and if I had unlimited money resources prolly would buy each brand to try it out ... It is just so much fun, so much better for baby, so much cuter, it's really addictive. I even sewed a couple diapers and ordered some covers from diaperkit, which I haven't sewn yet, but I'm looking forward to it by adding a nice flannel print on the outside for further individualization of those covers

As soon as I got pregnant this time, I thought "yippie! new diapers!"
