Breastfeeding/TTC/Progesterone

Hi...I am still breastfeeding my son who will be 3 in December. He has no interest in discontinuing. He nurses before he goes to sleep and when he wakes up, so about 5 times in 24 hours.

I had a miscarriage about a month ago. I was two months pregnant when I had the miscarriage, and I am looking at trying to conceive again in a couple of weeks or less. I am wondering if any of you know if using progesterone is safe while breastfeeding and if any of you have done this?

Also, I keep reading that breastfeeding can lead to low progesterone levels which can of course lead to miscarriage. I haven't had my levels checked and won't be able to until I have my next positive pregnancy test. Any info about this would be helpful too.

Thanks!

The mini pill is progesterone and they let BFing women take that for birth control. I dont see how this is different.
