I think what merpk meant is that you don't convert to "Conservative," "Reform," or "Orthodox" Judaism. You convert to Judaism, period. Yes, some conversions are more Kosher than others (i.e. an Orthodox conversion) but a conversion by a Reform or Conservative Rabbi still renders one Jewish.

Yes, but they are very different from each other in many ways. As someone raised around both Reform and Orthodox family and watching my Aunt's husband go through conversion to an Orthodox congregation and another uncle's wife going through Reform conversion, the requirements are different.
