Hi,

I have 2 kids, my youngest is 10 months old. I had my first period last month, and going by the 28 day cycle, my period should start today.

About 6 days ago (lasting for 4 days) I had really bad cramping. so bad that if I sat down too hard I felt a jarring in my cervix. About 2 days ago I had white string like discharge.

Now... I feel nothing.

My DH and I did bd around cd 8, 9, 10, 11 (basically from what I've read, my most fertile time). We aren't using birth control... he pulled out.

I don't want to be pregnant now. Really really don't. My body just isn't back to normal, my iron levels and all levels are still bad, I'm not in a good state to be pregnant. And my baby's still so small... I'm really freaking out and I know that if I freak out then I'm going to make my period late if it is coming.

I've tried to see what these cramps and discharge could mean.. and I'm getting confused by the info.

What do you guys think?

btw.. my older son in 3.5 years old and i only got my period back when he was 2 and I got pregnant a few months later. My periods before kids were always a little bit erratic, sometimes on time, others not. But I spent an awful lot of time worrying, so I think that probably influenced things.

Have you tested? Hopefully it's just a case of your cycle still trying to get back to normal.

It sounds to me like you're just having a longer cycle.

Leutal phases (the time after you O but before AF arrives) are typically 12-14 days long. If the cramping you felt was O cramping 6 days ago, that would put AF due to arrive 6-8 days from now. it's also typical for PP AFs to be a wee bit wonky and to have longer cycles from time to time.

If you want to know what's going on in the future, I'd suggest keeping track of your 3 fertile signs: cervical fluid, cervical height, and waking body temperatures. For more info how to do that if you're interested, deffinitely check out TCOYF

ETA: if you continued to have fertile CM (the stretchy kind) up to just 2 days ago AF may not be due for another 10-12 days if you're just Ovulating now or not too long ago- deffinitely keep an eye on your CM- anything creamy or stretchy is potentially fertile and you pretty darn near can't get pregnant without that fertile CM, so even if you bd'd on CD 8,9,10,or11 without fertile CM you've got little to worry about.
