I need HELP!! Malpositioned baby???

I've had a pain in my left pelvis for a few days now, it's deep inside, low, not round ligament or nerve I don't think, it doesn't "shoot" or radiate anywhere. It's so low it's almost in my groin.

I pointed it out to my OB Friday morning and told him that I think baby's shoulder might be lodged there, and he palpated and agreed that the shoulder is definitely right there, although it's just best guess that that's what's causing the pain.

Here's what I've been doing:

--In the shower, on all fours, head down butt up.
--On the bed, same position.
--On a harder surface (so as not to fall!) similar position, but then lean towards my right sort of (I tried to lift my left arm even, and was able to for a short while, there's a similar position in yoga where you are on only one foot as well, but I don't dare try that right now )
--I've been massaging the area and talking to baby a lot.

So I did all of this sporadically the last two days, and last night did it for a good 30 minutes, then went to bed. I woke up in the middle of the night with NO pelvic pain, but instead INTENSE lower back pain, and for a minute worried baby had moved posterior. I did a few minutes on all fours head down butt up, then went back to bed.

This morning I woke up pain free! Yay! It worked! I've had a busy day out and about, plus took both dogs for a walk, and since then the pain has come back WORSE than before. The pressure in my pelvis is INTENSE, and the pain in that one spot is pretty bad. Bad enough that I'm considering a tylenol before bed.

There's a little bit of achiness in my lower back, but not bad, and I might just chalk that up to a long day on my feet.

Is baby truly "stuck" on my pelvis? How the heck do I get him dislodged? He's still OA, I can feel his head obviously, but it's above my pubic bone, he's not engaged. He's plenty active, I can feel squirming inside my pelvis, and I have a lot of pressure way down low (including some cervix pressure sometimes, even though his head isn't engaged). He's otherwise in a great position, except this darn shoulder!! (if that's what this is).

Any other thoughts?????

Boy, I wish I could be of help! I am impressed you can feel your baby's head. The best I've been able to make out is a butt and a foot!

I can commiserate with the pelvic pain from baby being so low... but I can't give an educated guess about what could be causing your pelvic pain? I would think it's nerve related at first thought.

At any rate... I hope your baby (and mine, too, for that matter!) decides to make an appearance VERY soon!

Well I posted in another thread that I totally hear you on the shoulder in hip thing, but it causes my really NO pain at all - which is different from you. I can just feel it there, and when she gets the hiccups, it shakes that hip (and I can press in right there and the hiccups shake my hand when I press her off that hip, if that makes sense). I mentioned it to my midwife and she said since I have had multiple kids, I am more sensitive to that stuff and my muscles/ligaments are all more loose, which gives her the freedom to move around more and find weird positions like that. She said that's also the reason it's no big deal because she's just happy there for now sometimes and to not give it a second thought because she's got plenty of space to move around as she sees fit.

I also asked about how low she is, and while she's low enough to cause discomfort (pressure, constant peeing, hip pain, etc.), she's not super low because, again, I've had multiple kids already and she won't move down too soon. She said we don't need a head on the cervix to dilate, so she's not 'holding up' labor because she's not moving down or 'stuck.' She didn't expect her to "drop" until the pushing stage, and by then she would have spent plenty of time working her way into the right position and rotating through labor movements, so the shoulder thing won't matter. She said to not stress at all about her position as long as she's head down.

I'm not sure if any of that helps or reassures. That really sucks about the pain - I hope it feels better soon! I bet that his position is just fine for where we are right now... I guess we will know for sure soon!!
