All of a sudden having second thoughts about chosen name

I'm due Wednesday and for most of the pregnancy, my husband and I had agreed on the name for our little boy. Now this last week, he started having second thoughts and now I am too! I just can't find any other boy names that I like though! Anyone thought they were sure about a name and then changed at the last minute? What changed your mind?

Me too, sort of!

It's not that I don't like the name, I do, but it's never felt "perfect" to me, plus I've met like three other little boys recently with the name! I really like that Ian is somewhat uncommon. Connor is a bit more common, but not hugely so. I'm now wondering just how common the name is we've chosen, because it seems that I'm hearing it a lot!

I've been poking around baby name webpages here and there, but nothing else is any good.

I'm pretty sure we're going with the name we have.

DH and I both love our chosen name but we've been sharing it with a lot of people lately and getting mixed reactions. I can tell when someone I know really well doesn't really like the name and it bothers me. But for now we are sticking with it because we love it.

We sort of wondered about ours for a couple days before he was born, but ultimately, it really is a name I love, and I think I was more worried that other people wouldn't like it than that we didn't like it. In the end though, it's his name, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

we waffled u til the last minute. i liked how it looked in print, and it seems to fit. it's fine to change your mind, all the way till you sign the birth cert.

I am having these same thoughts. I want to change what I thought I wanted because whenever anyone's asked what we were naming baby girl, we said well it MIGHT be this or we MIGHT go with that. And now those people have taken it upon themselves to go and tell everyone that that was what we WERE naming the baby. Boy, they will feel awfullly stupid if I find something else.....

my experience is when we've let the name out, people are SOO opinionated and say the stupidest things, so that's a main reason why we're waiting to tell the world. It's almost like it wasn't special anymore when we told people the names of our girls when I was pregnant with the twins. NOW we have a name and we are sticking with it!
