Help! I can't stop cooking!

Since this is our first, I have no idea what I'll be up for in the first few weeks. I'd read that it's a good idea to have people bring you food, but I don't have really any family in the area. My mom and I got together a few weekends ago and made a bunch of stuffed cabbage and stuffed peppers that I froze in meal-sized portions. I also made some shepherd's pie and a big batch of crab and corn chowder. This morning I got up and decided I needed to make beef and barley stew. And I'm already back on the internet looking for more recipes...

I easily have 10 days worth of dinners ready to go, plus some "emergency" microwave meals for lunch or whatever. Somehow I'm just worried all of the sudden that we're going to starve or something. This is pretty much impossible, even without freezing the fully-made meals. I do a lot of freezing and canning, so our shelves and freezer are nearly full this time of year anyways. I have all kinds of food, plus a doting grandma-to-be that I know will bring dinner or cook for us. I just can't stop cooking...!

So much for being an empowered, modern woman. All I want to do is spend the next few days barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen!!

I now have a chicken pot pie in the oven. It's like a compulsion. All I can think about is that we don't have enough food. I've heard of women cleaning and organizing obsessively near their due date but not cooking. Maybe I'm just weird. Oh well. At least I know I'm being irrational. That counts for something, right??

Diana-of-the-dunes - , amazing, but I have same menu these days (and for PP): stuffed peppers (my faaaavorite), and stuffed cabbage leaves.

(Eastern European kitchen, what can I say...)

i had every intention of cooking lots of meals with all my pregnancies but never got round to it cos i was too lazy lol
